Memorial Park Church Sanctuary Renovations

The main sanctuary at Memorial Park Church, originally completed in 1962, serves as the focal point for a large in-person congregation and a growing remote audience through live-broadcast worship services. Recognizing the central role of worship services and musical performances, the recently completed renovation addressed three primary objectives for both in-person and online audiences: improving interior lighting, removing physical and visual barriers to the worship experience, and modernizing and consolidating lighting and audio-visual systems.

The project updated the previously dark, dimly lit sanctuary space, introducing a palette of lighter finishes in conjunction with thoughtfully considered lighting. The enhancements brightened the space, creating a welcoming and contemporary worship environment.

The sanctuary dais was reconfigured to improve accessibility, provide integrated storage for worship materials, and strengthen the visual and relational connection between the congregation and pastors or performers. These changes support a more inclusive, functional, and engaging worship experience.

In parallel, the church’s audio-visual infrastructure was comprehensively upgraded. The former temporary platform at the rear of the sanctuary was replaced with a purpose-designed raised audio-visual booth. This new booth improves sightlines and working conditions for audio-visual staff while maintaining a warm and inviting presence at the sanctuary entrances. Coordinated acoustical treatments were implemented throughout the space, optimizing sound quality for both in-person attendees and online viewers.
